Woolston Eyes Nature Reserve - UK

Since January 2025, a Titley Scientific Ranger wildlife recorder has been deployed at Woolston Eyes Nature Reserve to monitor migrating bats and birds in the area. With support from bat expert Anthony Nickson and bird experts Dan Owens and David Bowman, the initiative offers year-round insight into the movement patterns of local and transient species.
Deployed by Andrew from our UK office alongside Anthony, the Ranger is powered sustainably using a specialist Solar Panel Kit designed for long-term fieldwork. This setup, equipped with dual large-capacity SD cards, allows the device to operate continuously capturing crucial data without the need for frequent maintenance.
Placed within the reserve’s rich habitats, the Ranger records ultrasonic bat calls and acoustic bird vocalisations, creating a valuable dataset for ecological research and conservation planning. With data collection continuing throughout the year, the project promises an accurate insight to conservation and biodiversity within the region.
