In bat echolocation, directionality refers to the bat’s ability to focus its emitted sound in a specific direction. By controlling the directionality of their echolocation pulses, bats can concentrate the sound energy to accurately locate objects or prey. Higher-frequency calls tend to exhibit greater directionality.
